Sue Lee, contributing author to “Women Will Save the World” is the CEO of EQ Media and the Curator of “I Believe in Me!” Last year, she also launched the Sock It To ‘Em Campaign, a program aimed at providing Denver’s homeless with socks during the cold winter months that begin around the holidays.
This year, she teamed with Small Business Drives America to organize the first ever “No Socks to Work Day.” The official date is December 12, 2012. Participants are asked to skip wearing socks that day and donate a pair instead, then go sock-less to work to show their support! The drive will then stay active until December 31st.
The drive is being launched in Denver, where the homeless population has doubled since just last year, but other cities are encouraged to join in. This is a perfect example of women saving the world by starting in their own communities. Many local businesses have gotten involved, the Denver Nuggets have shown their support, and even Crocs is helping in the donations! Go, Sue Lee!
